CDRPC Capital Region Economic Development Administration (EDA)
CDRPC serves as the U.S Department of Commerce/EDA certified Economic Development District (EDD) for the four Capital Region counties and provides EDA-related technical assistance and support for public works grants.
The Capital Region EDA- Eligibility tool map shows census tract level unemployment rates and per capita income. To be eligible for most EDA program grants, an applicant must propose a project which meets the EDA’s distressed area criteria. These criteria consist of:
- an unemployment rate that is, for the most recent 24-month period for which data are available, at least one percentage point greater than the national average unemployment rate.
- per capita income that is, for the most recent period for which data are available, 80 percent or less of the national average per capita income.
- a “Special Need,” as determined by EDA.
