Population Change at the Municipal Level

CDRPC conducted an analysis of population trends at the municipal level utilizing decennial census data from 2010 to 2020. This examination allows for insights into the specific patterns of growth or decline observed in individual communities or regions. The findings from this analysis offer valuable information for urban planning, resource allocation, and a comprehensive understanding of demographic shifts within specific municipalities.

The municipalities that had the largest percent increase in population are:

  • Round Lake (32.91%)
  • Ballston (21.02%)
  • Halfmoon (19.16%)
  • Malta (16.02%)
  • Menands (14.14%)

The municipalities that had the largest percent decrease in population are:

  • Village of Galway (-17.5%)
  • Delanson (-11.14%)
  • Schaghticoke (-10.98%)
  • Petersburg (-10.03%)
  • Hoosick Falls (-8.14%)
