The availability of centralized water and sewer infrastructure is often a determining factor for future growth, particularly in rural areas. Long-range infrastructure planning combined with thoughtful land use regulations can be a useful tool for communities to target growth and development into areas with the capacity to support greater density while minimizing environmental impacts. Planning board and zoning board of appeals members are required by state statute to obtain four hours of training a year. Town, village and city zoning board of appeals and planning board members, as well as county planning board members must receive training. This webinar series was developed to provided for participant to obtain credits necessary for their planning and zoning board service. Municipalities have a wide latitude in defining what training is acceptable. Please provide this email to the chair of your local planning or zoning board and/or your local clerk for proof of attendance and application for the one hour of required credits.
