CDRPC Planning and Zoning Webinar Series
April 30, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
FreePlanning board and zoning board of appeals members are required by state statute to obtain four hours of training a year. Town, village and city zoning board of appeals and planning board members, as well as county planning board members must receive training.
CDRPC has historically organized two annual day-long workshops to provide this training. In light of NY PAUSE and the restrictions imposed in an effort to combat the spread of COVID-19, CDRPC has cancelled our Spring Workshop, an event that provided a full-day’s credits to board members. We recognize that Municipalities still need training outlets and have organized an ongoing and ongoing webinar series for participant to obtain credits. Municipalities have a wide latitude in defining what training is acceptable for credit.

For the Thursday, April 30, 2020, our Webinar topic will be COVID-19 impacts on transportation and migration patterns.
Presenting will be planners at Barton & Loguidice and Jennifer Ceponis, Senior Transportation Planner for the Capital District Regional Transportation Committee.
In the first part of this two-part webinar, Barton & Loguidice will share potential population shift impacts of post- Covid-19 mass migration and what these shifts might mean for Upstate using post-911 population data as a benchmark.
Jennifer Ceponis will share the The Capital District Transportation Committee’s Draft New Visions 2050 Plan. This plan, released in March, 2020, outlines policy and investment principles for investing in transportation infrastructure in the Capital Region to develop a sustainable 21st century transportation system. How does the region implement New Visions 2050 in a post-pandemic world? How can New Visions guide the reimagining of Capital Region communities and how we move around them?
After this webinar, and each webinar in the series, each attendee will receive an email confirming attendance. This email can be passed along to your board chair and or clerk to apply for credit.
The CDRPC webinars in this series will take place on Thursday mornings at 10am. This webinar series will also provide an opportunity for local government professionals from across the board to sharpen their skills, obtain credits, learn about trends and regulations, meet the experts and find out about funding opportunities.
